Today, Saturday, 9 September 2023, Grand Master Taizou Nakamura from Japan was our guest at the B-17 Museum Utzenstorf. Taizou Nakamura is an enthusiastic collector of Japanese Zero fighter relics from WWII. He has made it his main task to closely trace the history, details, colours and workmanship of this aircraft in order to preserve the knowledge for posterity. He started building replica Zero aircraft instrument panels over 20 years ago. These are in use all over the world. Among others, in aircraft museums in Japan, in the Yaskuni Shrine and Yamato Museum. But also in the Flying Zero of the Planes of Fame Museum, USA you can find his panel. We think that there is no one else in Japan or even probably in the world who knows so much about this type of aircraft. Many thanks to Rio and Mike for organising the meeting.
