Swiss Internees history, the Swiss Movie, The last chance

S/Sgt. Penrose W. Reagan was the engineer on the B-17G, Serial No. 42-107092, nick name: Umbriago /Freckles, of the 8th Airforce, 401 Bomb Group, 615th Squadron which made an emergency landing in Dübendorf on July 31, 1944. He had a role in the Swiss Film "The Last Chance".  S/Sgt. Penrose W. Reagan plays the role of "Jim Braddock". 

"Die letzte Chance" is one of the most important works in Swiss film history. The plot takes place in northern Italy in 1943. Two escaped prisoners of war, an English lieutenant and a US sergeant, take a group of Jewish refugees on a dangerous route across the Swiss border. The Film, shot in 1944, deals with the then and now highly topical issues of refugees and asylum policy. The Film experienced an international triumphal procession after its world premiere in May 1945. In a very short time it was also shown in New York City, Paris and London. In 1947 "The Last Chance" received a Golden Globe Award in Los Angeles as the Film that best promotes international understanding.
